European Union (EU) countries exported nearly 2,000 tons of oil products to Azerbaijan in January of this year, which is 2.4 times more than in the same period last year.

Axar.az reports concerning the data of the European Union Statistical Office (Avrostat) that exports have doubled in monetary terms and reached approximately 4.5 million euros.

Among EU countries, Greece (754 tons worth 500 thousand euros), Germany (457 tons worth 1.9 million euros), and the Netherlands (155 tons worth 500 thousand euros) are among the three largest suppliers of oil products to Azerbaijan in January of this year.

According to Eurostat, last year the European Union countries increased the export of oil products to Azerbaijan by 73.7 percent compared to 2022, reaching approximately 24,400 tons. In monetary terms, the volume of these exports increased by 62.7 percent and reached approximately 58.2 million euros.

Also, according to the information, last year the countries of the European Union (including Italy and Croatia) imported the maximum amount of oil (about 20.3 million tons) from Azerbaijan in the last 4 years, which means an increase of 2.6 percent compared to 2022. The value of oil supplied from Azerbaijan was estimated at 12.4 billion euros.

Among EU countries, Italy (11.3 million tons worth 6.8 billion euros), Czech Republic (2 million tons worth 1.2 billion euros), Spain (worth 875.2 million euros) in the Top-10 list of the largest oil importers from Azerbaijan last year 1.4 million tons), Germany (1.2 million tons worth 750.3 million euros), Croatia (1.15 million tons worth 699.2 million euros), Portugal (631.3 thousand tons worth 404.6 million euros ), Ireland (617.3 thousand tons worth 375.3 million euros), Greece (529.6 thousand tons worth 309.4 million euros), Austria (498.7 thousand tons worth 306.6 million euros) and Romania (262 , 435.5 thousand tons worth 2 million euros) is named.
