NATO troops have moved very close to Russia's borders, which poses additional threats to military security.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

"I want to emphasize that they approached us, not us. This shows once again that Westerners cannot be trusted. Now they are accusing us that if they don't stop Russia in Ukraine, we will allegedly attack the countries of the alliance," Shoigu said.

According to him, Russia is committed to the policy of non-interference in the affairs of other states:

"After the collapse of the Soviet Union, NATO's eastward expansion continues, although we were promised in the 1990s that this would not happen. During this period, six waves of NATO expansion took place."
