Russia supports the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Axar.az reports that Sergei Shoigu, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said this while attending the reception of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on August 6.

Sergey Shoigu emphasized the successful development of relations between the countries in regional security, military-technical, transport and economic fields. He said that there are very important issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation and they have been successfully resolved.

The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation evaluated the implementation of the North-South Corridor as an example of this and noted that great work has been done in this regard on a tripartite basis.

Prospects of cooperation in the "3+3" format were discussed at the meeting.
