Funds allocated for combating climate change are not being spent properly.
Axar.az reports that Tetet Lauron, a program advisor from the United Nations (UN), stated this during an event organized within the framework of COP29.
She explained that there is now a need for state funds to support communities fighting climate change:
"At the same time, developed countries owe us. We have gathered here for charity, but we are also here to collect our historical ecological debt for the climate. Developed countries have not responded positively to the message regarding 100 billion US dollars. With hours remaining before COP29 concludes, countries must fulfill their commitments in the fight against climate change."
