WhatsApp starts rolling out voice message transcripts

WhatsApp will offer free transcription of voice messages.

Axar.az reports that the developers of the messenger have announced this feature.

The voice message-to-text function will gradually become available to users worldwide in the coming weeks.

Activating the feature will not be difficult. To enable it, users need to go to the "Settings" section, select "Chats," then find the "Enable Voice Message Transcription" option. Here, a language pack must be downloaded and installed. After receiving a voice message, users can press and hold it, then select "Transcribe" from the menu that appears.

At launch, the messaging app will only be able to transcribe voice messages in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian, with support for more languages coming in the next few months.
