Russia's "Alfa Insurance" has fully paid the insurance compensation related to the crash of the “Embraer” aircraft owned by AZAL near Aktau.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by the Deputy Director General for Aviation and Space Insurance at Alfa Insurance, Ilya Kabachnik, in an interview with Interfax.
According to him, the company has already started making payments for the damage to passengers:
“The ‘Embraer 190’ aircraft, owned by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), which crashed near Aktau in Kazakhstan, as well as the carrier's responsibility to passengers, were insured by ‘Alfa Insurance.’ The majority of the risk was reinsured by the Russian National Reinsurance Company. The full insurance payout for the aircraft was made in February.”
Kabachnik did not disclose the amount of the insurance payment.
