A Pakistani citizen who came to Azerbaijan to start a business has been arrested.

Axar.az informs the man, born in 1991, had previously traveled to the Kingdom of Bahrain to pursue business opportunities.

After failing to succeed there, he decided to move to Azerbaijan. However, his passport had expired. When he applied for a new one at the Pakistani Embassy in Bahrain, his request was denied. He then met someone in Bahrain and paid $700 for a forged passport.

The man was detained at the airport upon arriving on a Bahrain–Baku flight.

An investigation revealed that his passport was fake. He was taken into custody and handed over to the relevant authorities.

A criminal case was launched, and he was placed under arrest.
