Today, the third of the Novruz Wednesdays - Yel Charshanba - was celebrated in the city of Khankendi.
Axar.az reports that according to the information provided by the public relations department of the Reconstruction, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara and Khojaly regions, a Yel Charshanba bonfire was lit in the city of Khankendi in connection with the Novruz holiday, one of the most beloved holidays of our people.
Representatives of the public, residents of the region, students, and high school students gathered around the bonfire set up in the city center.
Bonfires were lit in many streets and yards on the occasion of Yel Charshenba. Children and young people danced and sang around the holiday bonfire set up in the district center.
It should be noted that a holiday concert will be held in the square on March 18.
In addition, life is reviving in the village of Ballıja in the city of Khojaly, which was liberated from occupation. The residents of Khojaly, who have been longing for their homeland for years, are now celebrating the holidays in their native village. Today, residents lit the Yel Charshanba bonfire in Khojaly city and Ballıja village.
It should be noted that 52 families have settled in Khojaly city and 112 families in Ballıja village within the framework of the “Great Return” project.
For the first time since the “Great Return”, a Yel Charshanba bonfire was lit in Hasanriz village of Aghdara district.
The re-celebration of the customs and traditions of the Azerbaijani people in our native lands has made people proud of returning to their homeland after 32 years. Hasanriz residents gathered around the bonfire. They congratulated each other and shared the joy of celebrating significant days in their native homes.
It should be noted that in March 2025, a total of 50 families were resettled in Hasanriz village within the framework of the “Great Return” Program. Currently, work is underway to reconstruct the village. The resettlement to the village will continue in stages.
