Turkish Super Lig referee Yasin Kol and assistant referee Goktug Hazar Erel have been detained as part of an investigation into the Central Referee Committee (MHK).

Axar.az reports that the operation was carried out as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the report, both referees were taken into custody in Trabzon shortly after the friendly match between Trabzonspor and Ireland’s Drogheda United.

They are suspected of organizing illegal betting, document forgery, and abuse of office.
