Albania to ban TikTok for a year

Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that the country's authorities will block access to the TikTok platform for a year after the incident that resulted in the death of a student at school.

Axar.az reports that in a meeting with teachers, parents, and psychologists in Tirana, he called Tiktok a "thug" and promised to "drive" it out of the country within a year.

According to the government's decision, TikTok will be blocked in Albania from the beginning of 2025.

It should be noted that after a fight in one of the schools in Tirana in which a 14-year-old student was killed and another was injured, a decision was made to block TikTok. Later it became known that the conflict started with a confrontation on social networks.
