In preparation for the upcoming Russia–U.S. meeting in Alaska on August 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with members of the country’s top leadership, as well as representatives of the government and the presidential administration.
Axar.az informs, citing TASS, Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made the statement at a Kremlin meeting dedicated to the upcoming Russia–U.S. summit in Alaska.
According to Putin, the agreements on Ukraine should form long-term conditions for peace between the two countries and in Europe.
"In the world on the whole, if we reach agreements in the sphere of strategic offensive arms control by the next stages [of negotiations]," Putin said.
