U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky supposedly did not read the content of the peace plan prepared by Washington. It seems Trump enjoys belittling Zelensky every time. How could the head of a country at war, with parts of its territory occupied, fail to read a peace plan presented to him? If politicians and experts not directly involved in the war have examined the plan almost with a magnifying glass, how is it possible that Zelensky would not carefully study a plan that could determine the political fate of his country and perhaps his own?
According to Axar.az, political analyst Elkhan Shahinoglu made these remarks.
“Trump’s other claim is that Zelensky’s team is satisfied with the peace plan, but the Ukrainian president is not. There are two contradictory points in this sentence. First, Trump says that Zelensky did not read the plan, but at the same time emphasizes that the Ukrainian president is not satisfied with it. This means Zelensky did read the plan if he is dissatisfied with it. Second, not only Zelensky but also his team members are not satisfied with Washington’s plan. It is no coincidence that the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in an interview with Sky News, firmly rejected any territorial concessions by Ukraine. Syrskyi stated that for Ukraine, a just peace is only possible without any preconditions and without losing any territory. According to him, fighting can only be stopped along the current line of contact. This is a message from Syrskyi to everyone, including President Volodymyr Zelensky himself, that Ukraine must not make concessions to the occupying Russia,” he said.
According to the political analyst, the reason Donald Trump is targeting Zelensky becomes clear in the latter part of his statement:
“The White House chief claimed that Russia was satisfied with Washington’s plan. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with an Indian publication, described his five-hour meeting with the representatives Trump sent to Moscow as meaningless and a waste of time.”
