New details have emerged about the behind-the-scenes processes surrounding the resignation of Andriy Yermak, former head of the Ukrainian President’s Office. According to claims, several influential political figures coordinated efforts to remove him from his position.
Axar.az reports, citing sources of Ukrainska Pravda, that high-ranking Ukrainian politicians and officials — including Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk — pushed for Yermak’s resignation.
According to the information, at the end of November a meeting was held in Stefanchuk’s office with members of the president’s party “Servant of the People.” The discussion focused on how to persuade President Volodymyr Zelensky to dismiss Yermak. The source noted that Yermak was “initially easy to work with,” but later cooperation became difficult and he “managed to spoil relations with almost the entire team.”
After the meeting, participants contacted Zelensky and presented their arguments. According to the source, the president “could not ignore” this position. Afterward, Yermak blocked some of the participants on messaging apps and attempted to initiate criminal cases against MPs David Arakhamia, Danylo Hetmantsev, and Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The publication also writes that other members of the “revolutionary committee” pushing for Yermak’s resignation included the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasyl Maliuk, and First Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. Earlier reports stated that they took part in a meeting with Zelensky, after which the decision to remove Yermak was made.
