Russia will present its clear position at the Russia–U.S. talks in Alaska, and much has already been done in preparation through visits by U.S. President’s special envoy Stephen Witkoff.
Axar.az informs, citing TASS, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this.
“We are not predicting anything in advance. We know that we have arguments, a position that is clear and definite. We will present them,” he said.
“Much has already been done during Stephen Witkoff’s visits. The President has already mentioned this. Witkoff spoke on behalf of President [Donald] Trump. We hope that tomorrow we will continue this very useful conversation,” the minister emphasized.
The Presidents of Russia and the U.S. will meet on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. This will be the first in-person talks between the two heads of state since June 2021, when Vladimir Putin met in Geneva with Joe Biden, who was then leading the U.S. administration. Putin will become the first Russian leader in history to visit Alaska.
