The commissioning of the Akkuyu NPP will contribute $50 billion to Turkiye's gross domestic product (GDP).

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the head of state, the NPP will prevent 35 million tons of carbon emissions when it starts operating, which will allow saving billions of dollars.

"Opposition to the construction of a nuclear power plant, if not the result of ignorance, can only be explained by bad intentions. Such narrow-mindedness will not benefit either the country or the people," Erdogan stressed.
