The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, described the U.S. military deployment in the Caribbean as a “global disgrace,” while highlighting the seriousness of the presence of a nuclear submarine targeting a peaceful people.
Axar.az informs, citing Venezolana de Television, that he assured that, although the U.S. government may believe Venezuela “will tremble,” the Venezuelan people will only be filled “with indignation, anger, nationalism, and patriotism.” The head of state reaffirmed that the country will respond to threats with the conviction to guarantee peace and security for the nation.
Furthermore, he criticized the language used by media outlets and international agencies to describe the situation, arguing that terms like “tensions rise” are euphemisms intended “to normalize the aggression of a Goliath against a David, of a power against a peaceful country.”
In this regard, he denounced that the U.S. government also relies on a disinformation campaign — which he called “the kings of fake news” — to “justify the unjustifiable” against Venezuela.
He also stated that this military escalation has no basis and is part of a “regime change” strategy aimed at imposing a government at the service of the North American oligarchy.
The head of state detailed the scale of the U.S. military deployment, including the presence of eight warships, 1,200 missiles, and a nuclear submarine near Venezuelan waters. “They flagrantly violate the consensus, the agreement that is almost a decree for our region — to be territories of peace.” With this deployment, the White House seeks to subdue the Venezuelan people and their resources through the violation of the nation’s sovereignty.
