On September 9, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the newly appointed head of the European Union (EU) delegation in our country, Marijana Kuyunjic.
Axar.az reports that the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the head of the delegation, Marijana Kuyunjic, presented the letter regarding her appointment to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Marijana Kuyunjic on her appointment and wished her success in her activities in our country.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on various issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, including political, economic, energy, transport-communications, humanitarian, and other areas.
The importance of our country's joint energy projects with the EU was emphasized. Interest was expressed in developing cooperation in other important areas.
The Minister also informed the other party in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period. The importance of the agreements reached within the framework of the Washington meeting, the initialing of the peace agreement, the decision to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Process, a remnant of the past conflict, and related structures in advancing the peace agenda initiated by our country was noted.
Head of the Delegation Marijana Kujunjic noted that she would spare no effort to advance the Azerbaijan-EU agenda during her term.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
