The Israeli military's strike on members of the Hamas movement's leadership in the capital of Qatar does not serve the goals of the Jewish state or the United States.

Axar.az reports that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said this at a regular briefing for journalists. "Unilateral bombings of Qatar, a sovereign state and close ally of the United States that has made great efforts and courageously taken risks to achieve peace, serve neither Israeli nor American goals," she added.

The White House official noted that US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the strike:

"The President also spoke with the Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, and thanked them for their support and friendship for our country. Trump assured that nothing like this would happen again on their soil."
