Istanbul Strait temporarily closed

The Istanbul Strait has been temporarily closed in both directions due to a malfunction on a ship heading to Russia.

Axar.az informs Turkish media reported that the engine of a 98-meter cargo ship traveling from the Bandirma port to Russia broke down.

The incident occurred in the Umuryeri area, 8 km from the Black Sea exit. The Coast Guard has dispatched boats and tug vessels to remove the ship. Once the vessel is cleared from the transit route, traffic in the strait will resume.
