OpenAI hits $500B valuation

ChatGPT's creator, OpenAI, has raised its value to $500 billion after selling $6.6 billion in shares.

Axar.az informs that Reuters reported this.

According to the report, as part of the deal, OpenAI employees sold their shares to a consortium of investors including Thrive Capital, SoftBank, Dragoneer Investment Group, Abu Dhabi-based MGX, and T. Rowe Price.

The source added that the company has authorized the sale of more than $10 billion in shares on the secondary market.

Note that OpenAI was previously valued at $300 billion. The company generated about $4.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2025.
