President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously awarded People’s Deputy and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the State.

Axar.az informs In addition to Parubiy, three more Ukrainians were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine — Gennady Afanasiev, Stepan Chubenko, and Volodymyr Vakulenko.

Zelensky emphasized that they were special people, defenders of the Ukrainian idea and independence.

“Their lives were different, and they came from different parts of our country – Lviv region, Crimea, Donetsk region, Kharkiv region. But each of them is now for many the personification of the Ukraine that managed to show character and stand up against Russia,” he added.

Let us recall that on August 30 , public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv .

He was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier.
