Following the detention of the activists from the Global Sumud Fleet by Israel, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) took action under the instruction of our President to bring them back to Istanbul. The coordination was led by Turkiye.
Axar.az reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said this in an interview with TRT Haber.
“The world knows our sensitivity toward Palestine. There was no joint effort for Palestine, and action was necessary. I congratulate our brothers and sisters who joined this protest. It was important that this initiative brought together many countries. Procedural steps will be taken regarding the Turkish activists who remain in Israel. Within a few days at most, we will secure their release along with our other brothers,” Fidan said.
It should be noted that yesterday, participants of the Sumud Fleet, detained by Israel in international waters, were brought back to Turkiye.
