Erdogan welcomes Gaza ceasefire, thanks Trump

I am very pleased that the Hamas-Israel talks held in Sharm El-Sheikh, to which Turkiye also contributed, have resulted in a ceasefire in Gaza.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made this statement in a post on X.

"I especially thank US President Donald Trump, who showed the necessary political will to encourage the Israeli government toward the ceasefire, as well as our brother countries Qatar and Egypt, who played an important role in reaching the agreement," Erdogan noted.

He emphasized that Turkiye will closely monitor the full implementation of the agreement and continue to contribute to the process.

"Similarly, we will continue our struggle until an independent, sovereign, and territorially intact Palestinian state is established based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital," he said.
