Former Georgian PM admits receiving illegal income

Former Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has admitted to receiving illegal income.

Axar.az reports that Garibashvili stated this in his statement to the Anti-Corruption Department of the State Security Service (STS).

He stated that he had been receiving illegal income for years.

The State Security Service stated that the nature of the criminal case, as well as the choice of a pre-trial detention measure, will be discussed in the coming days.

It should be noted that on October 17, searches were conducted at the homes of former Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, former head of the State Security Service (STS) Grigol Liluashvili, former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze, and persons associated with them.
