EU speeds up Russian oil sanctions

Russia is resisting the European Union's (EU) oil sanctions very creatively, and therefore, the EU intends to accelerate the application of sanctions against tankers carrying Russian oil.

Axar.az reports that EU Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas made this statement.

"Russia is very creative in evading sanctions. We must be equally creative," she said at a press conference following a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

"We are discussing with EU countries and the European Commission the possibility of applying sanctions against the "shadow fleet" more quickly. Most ministers agree with this approach. The EU should apply sanctions more quickly, without waiting for the next round of sanctions. We will continue to work on this," Kallas stressed.
