Syria resumes SWIFT payments after 14 years

The head of the Central Bank of Syria, Abdel Kader al-Husriyya, sent his first message via the SWIFT payment system after a 14-year hiatus.

Axar.az informs that the SANA agency reported on this.

According to him, al-Husriyya sent a message to all banks, starting with the New York Federal Reserve Bank.

It should be noted that on October 20, the head of the Central Bank of Syria announced during his visit to the United States that the country's banking sector had rejoined the SWIFT system.
