Switzerland joins EU’s sanctions package against Russia

The Swiss Federal Council (government) has joined the 19th package of sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a statement published on the government's website.

"On December 12, 2025, the Federal Council expanded the sanctions lists against Russia and Belarus. Thus, Switzerland implemented various amendments adopted by the EU as part of the 19th package of sanctions," the statement said.

The measures will enter into force on December 13, 2025.
