President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Axar.az informs Mirziyoyev strongly condemned the attempted attack on the residence of the Russian president in the Nizhny Novgorod region,” the statement said.
It was emphasized that such actions pose a threat to stability and security, including efforts aimed at achieving long-term peace.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the further development of Uzbek-Russian relations based on strategic partnership and alliance, in the context of implementing agreements reached at the highest level. They also exchanged views on current international and regional issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming events.
At the end of the call, the leaders congratulated each other on the upcoming New Year 2026, wishing one another good health, happiness and well-being, and peace and continued prosperity to the brotherly peoples of both countries.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Kyiv authorities had attempted a terrorist attack on the Russian president’s residence overnight on December 29 using 91 drones. All drones were destroyed by air defense systems, and no casualties were reported.
