Talks with Omani officials on the Strait of Hormuz are ongoing, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said.

Axar.az reports that Baghaei made the remarks in an interview with the ILNA News Agency.

"Our talks with Oman, which began in Tehran last Friday and Saturday, are continuing, and on Wednesday the two sides also held discussions at the level of foreign ministers. These talks between Iran and Oman, as two littoral states, have been under discussion for some time, independently of the situation caused by the United States' breach of commitments and the closure of the Strait due to the insecurity imposed by U.S. actions," he said.

"What is clear is that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed because of the actions of the United States and the insecurity it has imposed on this waterway. This situation is solely the result of the continuation of unlawful U.S. actions, including a naval blockade against Iran, which it says is an extension of the military aggression launched by the United States and the Israeli regime on February 28, 2026," he added.
