Zelensky appoints Yevhen Khmar as new SBU chief

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Yevhen Khmar as the new head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that Khmar previously served as head of the “A” Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

It is noted that Vasyl Maliuk has announced his resignation from the post of head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

He had led the agency since July 2022.

“I am leaving the post of head of the Service. However, I will remain within the SBU system and continue carrying out world-class asymmetric special operations that will inflict maximum damage on the enemy,” he said.
