US weighing intervention in Iran - JP

The Jerusalem Post reports that the United States is considering limited intervention in Iran amid ongoing protests, while Israel is reassessing whether recent U.S. action in Venezuela—specifically the capture of President Nicolás Maduro—has changed the strategic calculus for confronting the Iranian regime.

Axar.az reports that until the U.S. move against Maduro, both Washington and Israel viewed Iran’s protests as insufficient to bring down Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on their own.

However, the Venezuela operation has prompted renewed discussion about whether targeted, non-full-scale intervention could help Iranian protesters weaken or possibly topple the regime.

There are indications that the U.S. is weighing narrowly focused measures to support the protest movement and prevent it from being crushed. Israel is reportedly exploring similar options, with the Mossad publicly acknowledging assistance to protesters and senior Israeli officials calling for “concrete actions,” not just rhetorical support.
