Venezuelan AG demands US recognize Maduro’s immunity

Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William has demanded that the US authorities recognize the immunity of Nicolas Maduro.

Axar.az reports that he called on Judge Alvin Hellerstein to respect international law and recognize that the court has no right to prosecute the head of a sovereign state with immunity.

The Attorney General has demanded that the international community take measures to immediately release Maduro and his wife.

Yesterday, a New York federal court held its first hearing on the case of the Venezuelan President. The Latin American leader is being held in custody. Maduro pleaded not guilty in court and said that he was taken prisoner.
