US President Donald Trump is using rhetoric employed by “thugs” from Russia and China on the issue of Greenland, even though these are the very countries he should be keeping in check.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

Rasmussen said that Trump is using Greenland as a “weapon of mass distraction” to divert attention from real threats, including Russia’s war against Ukraine:

“What really concerns me is that the world’s attention is currently focused on an issue that poses no threat to either Europe or the United States — Greenland, which is a friendly US ally. The issue that should now be at the center of attention is how to get Russia to the negotiating table over Ukraine.”
