Military action on Iran decided, timing still debated

Decision-makers in the United States and Israel have effectively moved beyond diplomacy with Iran and now view military action as inevitable, with discussions focused only on timing, according to a Western source cited by Iran International.

Axar.az reports that the source said current coordination talks are no longer about reaching a new agreement but about identifying the right political and operational window for an attack, which could open within days or weeks.

According to the source, Washington and Tel Aviv believe the present situation offers a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to deliver an unprecedented strike aimed at severely weakening or even collapsing Iran’s governing structure.

Risk tolerance has increased compared with last year’s 12-day war, which is now seen as limited in scale. Israel is said to be on full alert, with scenarios including waiting for a trigger — such as an Iranian missile launch — to justify a much broader military campaign.

Despite Trump’s statements about possible talks, Iran has rejected negotiations while threats continue, and the source insisted the decision to act has already been made.
