EU power struggle could threaten bloc’s future

The power struggle between the head of the EU diplomatic service, Kaja Kallas, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, could lead to the collapse of the EU. This threat is especially relevant against the backdrop of the deterioration of the EU's relations with NATO and the United States.

Axar.az reports that journalist Sonya van den Enden said this in an analytical article published in the journal "Strategic Culture".

"The relationship between the dictator Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas, who is openly critical of Russia, has deteriorated. Internal enemies have appeared within the EU, which usually means that the end of the existence of the alliance is approaching," she wrote.

The journalist's sources said that the relationship between the two political figures in the EU leadership is increasingly tense in the struggle for power and influence. The contradictions that have arisen in the relationship between the EU leadership and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte further complicate the situation.

The article says that Rutte's views are not particularly welcomed in the EU, while he is very friendly towards US President Donald Trump.
