US: New nuclear talks will take time

The US administration recognizes that reaching new nuclear arms control agreements between Russia, the United States, and possibly other countries will require lengthy negotiations.

Axar.az reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this.

"We understand that this process can take time. Previous agreements, including New START, were negotiated over years and were based on decades of experience. They were also concluded between two powers, not three or more. But the complexity of the task does not mean that we should not try to solve it or settle for less. Today in Geneva, we are taking the first steps towards a future in which the global nuclear threat is reduced not only on paper, but in reality. We hope that others will join us," Rubio noted.
