Turkiye’s Baykar, the world’s largest producer of combat drones, plans to invest $250 million in a project to establish production facilities in Morocco.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, Baykar’s first subsidiary on the African continent will begin operations this year under the name Atlas Defense.

The publication reports that an agreement to establish Atlas Defense was reached in 2024, and the first UAVs are expected to roll off the production line in the city of Ben Slimane, Morocco, by the end of this year. The company has already begun recruiting employees.

The production of Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci combat drones is also planned in Morocco.
