Putin, Pezeshkian discuss Iran conflict

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for Russia’s solidarity with the Iranian people during a phone call between the two leaders.

Axar.az informs according to the Kremlin press service, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Russia’s support for the Iranian people “defending the sovereignty and independence of their homeland” and briefed Putin in detail on developments during the current acute phase of the conflict.

For his part, Putin reaffirmed Moscow’s position that hostilities in the Middle East must stop immediately and stressed the need to return as soon as possible to a political and diplomatic settlement.

The Russian president also said he remains in constant contact with the leaders of countries that are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Kremlin said.
