Turkiye considering sending F-16 jets to Northern Cyprus

Turkiye is considering sending F-16 fighter jets to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a security measure, in response to recent developments in the Middle East.

Axar.az reports, citing TRT Haber, that sources within the Turkish Ministry of National Defense said Turkiye is preparing phased plans to strengthen the island’s security.

“The deployment of F-16 aircraft to the island is among the options being considered,” the source added.

The announcement comes after a drone attack targeted the island of Cyprus amid escalating regional conflict.
