Russia hits Ukraine with air defense missiles

Russian forces are increasingly using S-300 and S-400 air-defense missiles to strike ground targets in Ukraine, a tactic that highlights a shortage of high-precision weapons in their arsenal.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, retired Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko explained that although these missiles are designed for aerial targets, they can still cause significant damage when used against land targets, albeit with lower accuracy.

Russia also sometimes employs other missiles, including anti-ship Zircon missiles, in unconventional ways to hit ground objectives.

This shift reflects Moscow’s ongoing efforts to maintain missile attacks against Ukrainian cities despite limitations in its missile supply. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s intelligence has revealed technical details about the “Izdelie-30” missile, noting its 1,500 km range, 800 kg warhead, and components sourced from multiple countries.
