Trump 'disappointed' by selection of Mojtaba Khamenei in Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said he was “disappointed” by the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s late supreme leader Ali Khamenei, as his successor.

Axar.az reports speaking at a news conference in Doral, Florida, Trump said the decision could lead to more of the same problems for the country.

“I was disappointed because we think it's going to lead to just more of the same problem for the country,” he said.

When asked whether the new leader had a target on his back, Trump said it would be “inappropriate” to comment on that.
