Four arrested in Bahrain on suspicion of spying for IRGC

Four people have been arrested in Bahrain for spying on behalf of the IRGC, and the identity of a fifth person abroad has also been confirmed.

Axar.az infroms Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior reported that Murtaza Hussein Awal, Ahmed Isa al-Hayki, Sarah Abdul Nabi Marhoun, Elias Salman Mirza, and Ali Mohammed Hasan al-Sheikh were connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) through Iran-based “terrorist elements.”

The ministry noted that the investigation revealed that one of the detainees, acting on instructions from the organization and with the assistance of others, used high-resolution photographic equipment to capture images and record the coordinates of strategically important sites across Bahrain.

The obtained data was transmitted to the IRGC via encrypted software.
