Reports say Mojtaba Khamenei secretly flown to Russia

Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei was secretly transferred to Moscow aboard a Russian military aircraft after being injured during U.S.–Israeli airstrikes on Tehran on February 28.

Axar.az informs, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, the report claims he underwent successful surgery and is currently receiving treatment at a private medical facility.

The transfer was reportedly carried out due to security and medical concerns, as Iranian authorities feared his location inside Iran could be exposed.

The move was allegedly discussed between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The report also notes speculation about Mojtaba’s public absence and uncertainty over statements attributed to him, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted that Israel may have intelligence regarding his condition and whereabouts.
