Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of ending a partial ceasefire after launching overnight attacks involving more than 200 drones and dozens of air strikes across Ukraine.
Axar.az reports that Zelensky shared the statement on his X account, saying Russia had also resumed the use of aerial bombs along the frontline, with more than 80 bombs and over 30 air strikes recorded.
"Aerial bombs were used again on the front – more than 80 of them, and over 30 air strikes were recorded. Attack drones were shot down in the Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions, as well as in Kyiv and the region," he said.
Zelensky stated that there were injuries and fatalities as a result of the attacks.
"Energy facilities, apartment buildings, and a kindergarten were damaged, and there was also a strike on an ordinary civilian locomotive on the railway...
People have been reported injured as a result of these strikes. And, unfortunately, there are fatalities. My condolences to the family and loved ones," he noted.
“We have said that we will respond in kind to all Russian steps,” Zelensky stated, stressing that Moscow must take steps toward a real and lasting ceasefire.
He also called for continued and stronger sanctions against Russia, urging international partners to maintain pressure on Moscow and continue working toward security, justice and a reliable peace.
