Albania has strongly condemned Russia’s latest large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine, calling it “brutal” and “indiscriminate,” and warning of a serious escalation in the war.
Axar.az reports that Albania’s Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha made the statement on his X account.
He said the residential complex where Albania’s ambassador to Ukraine resides was hit during the attack, putting the diplomat’s life at serious risk.
"This time, the residential complex where the Ambassador of Albania to Ukraine resides was struck, putting his life at serious risk. This is unacceptable! Targeting or endangering civilian areas and diplomatic personnel represents a grave escalation and another stark reminder of the human cost of Russia’s continued aggression" he said.
He accused Russia of repeatedly striking energy infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and homes in Ukraine, while failing to break the resilience of the Ukrainian people.
This war of choice has lasted for far too long. For more than four years since its illegal full-scale invasion, Russia has relentlessly targeted energy infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and homes across Ukraine. Yet it has failed to break the courage, determination, resilience, and strength of the Ukrainian people.
“Russia is not winning; it is only killing, destroying, and inflicting widespread devastation and suffering,” he noted.
Hoxha also urged Russia to immediately halt its attacks and return to negotiations, reiterating Albania’s strong support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He added that the Russian ambassador to Albania has been summoned for explanations.
