Araghchi fires back at Aoun over US negotiation claims

Based on President Aoun’s remarks, one would think it is Iran that has occupied one-fifth of Lebanon, displaced one-quarter of its population, and bombards the country on a daily basis.

Axar.az reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made a statement on X, criticising Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

“If Lebanon had been a bargaining chip for Iran, we would have reached a deal long ago,” he added.

“Save Lebanon from your real foe, Mr. President,” Araghchi concluded.

It should be noted that earlier Lebanese President Joseph Aoun accused Iran of using Lebanon as a bargaining tool in negotiations with the United States.
