Zero Waste Movement boosts Turkish economy

The “Zero Waste Movement” has contributed 365 billion Turkish lira (about 7.94 billion US dollars) to the Turkish economy.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the remarks during his speech at the “Zero Waste Forum” held in Istanbul.

“According to a UN report, 43 million children around the world are currently suffering from hunger,” Erdogan said, adding that one-third of all food produced is wasted.

It should be noted that the platform, which brings together more than 500 partners in this field, was attended by around 5,000 participants from 183 countries.
