Indonesia quake damages more than 800 homes, one killed

One person was killed and 76 others injured after a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck several areas of Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi Province on June 16.

Axar.az reports, citing Indonesian media, that according to the Central Sulawesi Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Sigi District was the hardest-hit area.

Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Central Sulawesi BPBD, Andi Sembiring, said that around 800 homes were damaged in Sigi District, including 720 with minor damage, 68 with moderate damage, and 12 that were severely damaged.

The earthquake also damaged two office buildings, 15 places of worship, one micro, small and medium-sized enterprise facility, and a bridge linking Kamarora B and Tongoa villages.

BPBD data show that one person died in the disaster, while 13 people sustained serious injuries and 63 suffered minor injuries.
