Kallas: Russia poses existential threat to Europe

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said the European Union will continue to stand by Ukraine for as long as necessary and described Russia as an existential threat to European countries.

Axar.az reports that Kallas made the remarks during the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting.

"We will stand by Ukraine united and in solidarity for as long as it takes. We see it with clear eyes that Russia is an existential threat for our countries in Europe," she said.

Kallas noted that Europe is already facing Russia's hybrid actions and stressed that the EU is determined to strengthen its defense readiness.

"I ask you to join our calls to Russia to stop the killing in Ukraine and engage in talks genuinely to reach the ceasefire and then just and lasting peace," she added.
