Merz urges progress in Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz held a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Axar.az reports that German government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius told reporters that the leaders exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East, the conflict in Ukraine, and their impact on the South Caucasus.

"The German chancellor called for further progress in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and stressed its importance for regional stability.

In this context, the officials also discussed bilateral relations and opportunities to further expand Armenia's ties with the European Union," he said.
